Other Area Attractions during Pumpkinfest:

South Lyon High School vs. South Lyon East High School Football Game!  Come and watch history taking place in South Lyon!  With South Lyon East High School fielding its first Varsity Football Team this year, they will be visiting South Lyon High School in a game that will be excitng for all!  This will be the beginning of a great rivalry between these two schools in South Lyon...and bragging rights are at stake!  The game starts at 7:00 p.m. 

Second Annual Pumpkinfest Movie Night!  For the younger crowd you'll want to come to the free outdoor movie at Kent Lake Elementary School.  There will be inflatables, concessions, games, and a very special appearance by Batman and Spiderman...right out of their recent movies!  If you bring a canned food item you can get your picture taken with Batman and Spiderman and you will receive a photo to take home.  These two superheroes will also be marching in our parade on Saturday morning!  Carve a pumpkin and bring it along for the Jack-O-Lantern Contest.  NO CANDLES OR FLAMES ARE ALLOWED.  Please use flashlights or other battery operated lights in your Jack-O-Lanterns!  See our Pumpkinfest Movie Night page for all the details.

BBQ Chicken Dinner

Summer's not quite over! There's still time to enjoy a BBQ on Saturday, October 4th from 3:00 – 6:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church , 640 S. Lafayette Street (just south of McHattie Park) … for $8, enjoy one-half chicken, baked potato, cole slaw, roll and butter, pumpkin or apple pie (sugar free available) and beverage. Eat in or carry-out available. All proceeds benefit Active Faith Community Services.

Don't forget a stroll through downtown South Lyon to see the themed scarecrows decorating the streets. Businesses, community organizations and area residents help dress the lamp posts for the occasion. Winners are recognized for first, second, and third place – which is never easy to choose because they're all so cute and each has a different “personality.” Sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce for the South Lyon Area.

 

Downtown Saturday Night
Saturday evening, October 5,  Downtown South Lyon.  Sponsored by Community Choice Credit Union and the South Lyon Downtown Development Authority.  Live Music and entertainment from 6:00 - 10:00 p.m.  featuring  Laughing Madmen,  and Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels.  Many local merchants are offering extended hours and special events. The concert is free, but there will be VIP Seating and Reception tickets available for $50 a person.  See our Downtown Saturday Night page for all the details.
