Global Village

Global Village began in 1992 with an idea -- put together a group of musicians who wanted to have a blast doing what they loved, and to play music that would be guaranteed to make anyone groove. A band started to take shape, and word quickly got around town that these guys were a fun show to watch. Influenced by an ecclectic range of musicians and groups, including James Brown, The Blues Brothers, Fishbone, Kiss, The Temptations, Earth Wind and Fire, and Jimi Hendrix, to name a few, the band started to take Lansing by storm with seemingly boundless energy.

Since that time, GV has expanded it's reach. While they still play local clubs and bars, GV now enjoys performing a wide variety of entertainment venues. The band's energy and powerful stage show has also allowed it the opportunity to share the stage with some amazing performers, including Smokey Robinson, The Commodores, The Spinners, Journey, and Smashmouth. The philosophy of the band is simple -- Global Village brings the party, wherever they go. If you're at a GV show, then you're at the party. The band is going to have fun, no matter what. And, the cool part -- you're invited! There ain't no party like a GV party, cuz a GV party don't stop!

The Old Dogs

The Old Dogs are a classic rock/funk/blues band from Detroit and you might recognize them from their frequent gigs at the South Lyon Hotel. Not your usual classic rock cover band, the Old Dogs combine original songs together with our unique interpretations of "deeper cuts" from the great bands and artists who laid the foundation of rock-n-roll. From Bob Seger to Stevie Wonder, Wilson Picket to Grand Funk, the Old Dogs play a wide-ranging selection of great music.

Rather than emulate a jukebox of the same old standards heard thousands of times, the Old Dogs prioritize musicianship and showmanship in order to deliver a night of invigorating, infectious rock and soul via a constantly evolving repertoire. This band has chops and definitely not afraid to use them. What it means for the audience is an evening of familiar classic tunes delivered with spirited fun, swagger and zeal, from one of the sharpest bands in town.

Riot Brothers

The Riot Brothers started off in 2007 when John gathered up two kids, Alex from his health class and Dylan from L.A. They originally had a keyboardist also but he never showed up. The lineup was as it is now, John: Lead Guitar and vocals, Alex: Vocals, and Dylan who was percussion. They literally started by drumming on boxes just to get practice.

Their first gig was at the talent show where the act was John and Alex performing "You Really Got Me", it was well recieved by the kids. The next was the first school dance of 2008 where the played "What I Like About You" and "You Really Got Me", this was a success and they continue to play the school circuit.

The band also played with Mitch Ryder at the 2008 Downtown Saturday Night in South Lyon.
