The South Lyon Area Pumpkinfest was started 28 years ago by the late Dean Sparks. Over the years, the event grew from a craft and antique show to a weekend-long celebration of crafts, music, community and of course, everyone's favorite fall product: the pumpkin!
In 2009, the Pumpkinfest Committee adopted leadership of festival organization and planning. In 2010, Pumpkinfest became a registered Michigan 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
The Committee has enhanced Pumpkinfest with even more fun things to do and popular live entertainment. Today the festival is an exciting mix of community traditions and all-ages fun. Pumpkinfest will be located on the streets of historic downtown South Lyon (10 Mile Road and Pontiac Trail) and the festivities will include a beer tent, games, inflatables, entertainment stage and more.
